India’s Aditya has won the gold medal at the World Under-19 Boxing Championships in Montenegro. Aditya defeated Russia’s Islam Magomedov by a 4-1 margin in the men’s 55-kilogram final to claim the world title. This is India’s first gold medal of this edition of the U19 World Boxing Championships.
India’s Harshika won bronze in the women’s 65-kilogram category, while Prachi Tokas secured a bronze medal in the women’s over-80-kilogram category.
India’s Megha Sheokand will face Russia’s Ekaterina Frolova in the women’s 80-kilogram final later tonight.
