In a significant milestone under the National Green Hydrogen Mission, (NGHM), ACME Cleantech Solutions Private Limited today secured a long-term offtake deal with leading Japanese companies in New Delhi.

Under the deal with Japanese company IHI Corporation ACME will supply over four lakh tonnes of green ammonia to the Japanese company per annum. ACME has also signed a ten-year agreement with another Japanese company Mitsubishi Gas Chemical Company, for the supply of one lakh tonnes of green methanol.

These agreements were signed today in the presence of Secretary in the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy Santosh Kumar Sarangi and Vice Minister in the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan Takehiko MATSUO.

Welcoming the agreements, Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy Pralhad Joshi said that the agreements reflect the growing global confidence in India’s green hydrogen ecosystem and its emergence as a trusted partner in the global clean energy transition. In a social media post, he said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the National Green Hydrogen Mission is creating a strong and future-ready ecosystem. The Minister highlighted that the mission is attracting global investments, building international partnerships, and opening new markets for Indian green hydrogen and its derivatives.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Sarangi said that the agreement will strengthen the collaboration between India and Japan. He expressed confidence that the agreements will boost the willpower of entrepreneurs involved in the green hydrogen sector in the country. The Secretary emphasized that these agreements have created a market linkage between India and Japan for Green Ammonia and Green Methanol giving confidence to investors. He added that one of the outcomes of the agreements will be the creation of international green hydrogen and green ammonia value chains.
