A five-day Elephant Festival and Rejuvenation Camp is being held at Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve in Umaria district of Madhya Pradesh. The camp is being organised near Parasi Gate in the Dhamokhar buffer zone from September 24 to 28. The aim is to give working elephants some rest, check their health and provide them with nutritious and favourite food. Nine out of the 15 camp elephants in Bandhavgarh have been included in the camp.

 

A young elephant, Krishna, is the main attraction at the camp. Krishna was born in Bandhavgarh in October 2025. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav named him during his visit in December 2025. The event also aims to promote tourism in the buffer zone and spread awareness among villagers about wildlife conservation. Local people are getting an opportunity to see the elephants closely and learn about their care.
