The 29th National e-Governance Conference commenced today at the Rajasthan International Centre in Jaipur. The two-day conference is being jointly organised by the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), and the Government of Rajasthan. The conference was inaugurated by Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma.

 

Addressing the gathering, Mr. Sharma said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the government has introduced several technology-driven innovations over the past decade. He said these initiatives have not only made people’s lives easier but have also made governance more effective, responsive and citizen-centric. Referring to the use of technology in promoting good governance in Rajasthan, he said these innovations have made government services more accessible to citizens.

 

The theme of this year’s conference is “Viksit Bharat 2047: AI-Enabled, Data-Driven and Secure Digital Governance.” More than 2,700 participants, including over 1,000 startups and more than 400 representatives from academic institutions, are taking part in the conference.

 

The first day features three plenary sessions and six breakout sessions. The conference will conclude tomorrow with three plenary sessions, followed by the presentation of the National e-Governance Awards. Deliberations are focusing on artificial intelligence, deep tech, quantum computing, voice-first solutions, secure digital infrastructure, and other emerging technologies.
