Manipur Chief Secretary Rajeev Singh Thakur today visited Chandel district as part of a field visit to inspect various public facilities, review ongoing development activities and assess the functioning of Government institutions in the district.
The Chief Secretary inspected the conditions of Primary Health Centre and Industrial Estate at Salemthar. Shri Rajeev also visited the District Training Centre at Chandel Headquarters where a tree plantation programme was conducted and the District Library, Chandel to review the facilities available to the public.
Later the Chief Secretary visited the District Hospital, Chandel and took stock of the healthcare facilities and services provided to the people of the district. A review meeting with District Level Officers (DLOs) was subsequently held at the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Chandel during which various development activities and administrative matters relating to the district were reviewed.
The visit underscored the importance of regular monitoring of public institutions, effective implementation of Government programmes and coordinated efforts among departments to ensure improved public service delivery and accelerated development in Chandel district.
