19th Mumbai International Film Festival to conclude today

The 19th Mumbai International Film Festival (MIFF) will draw to a close today. The biennial festival of documentaries, short fiction, animation and AI cinema began on 15 June and will conclude tonight with a grand closing ceremony.

After five fully packed days of cinematic extravaganza, MIFF 2026 will conclude today. However, before the closing ceremony, film enthusiasts will have another day to experience the power of non-fiction storytelling across various sections, including PRISM, Best of Fest, National Competition, Mosaic and India: Lives and Landscapes, among others.

One of the key attractions on the final day of MIFF will be the screening of ‘V. Shantaram – The Pioneering Spirit’, marking the 125th birth anniversary year of the legendary filmmaker. At the closing ceremony, scheduled to take place this evening at Mumbai’s Ravindra Natya Mandir, the best films will receive 18 awards across the international and national competition categories, carrying a total prize money of ₹45 lakh along with trophies and certificates.
