WPL 2025: UP Warriorz defeat Royal Challengers Bengaluru at Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow

In the Women’s Premier League (WPL) Cricket, UP Warriorz defeated Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) by 12 runs at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow last night. With this loss, defending champions RCB became the second team to be eliminated from the tournament. RCB currently sits at the bottom of the points table with 4 points from 7 matches, while UP Warriorz, already out of playoff contention, concluded their campaign with 6 points. This result also secured playoff berths for Gujarat Giants and Mumbai Indians, who will join Delhi Capitals in the knockout stage.
 
Earlier, after being put in to bat, UP Warriorz posted a formidable total of 225 for five in the allotted 20 overs. For the home side, Georgia Voll top scored with an unbeaten 99 off 56 balls, while Kiran Navgire provided a quickfire 46 off just 16 deliveries. Chasing a target of 226 runs, Royal Challengers Bengaluru were bowled out for 213 in 19.3 overs. For RCB, Richa Ghosh top-scored with 69 runs off 33 balls, while Sneh Rana played a quick cameo, scoring 26 runs off just 6 balls. However, their efforts were not enough to take the visiting side over the line. For UP, Sophie Ecclestone and skipper Deepti Sharma took three wickets each. Georgia Voll was adjudged the Player of the Match. In the next match, Mumbai Indians will face Gujarat Giants at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai tomorrow.
