In the Women Premier League (WPL) Cricket, Mumbai Indians defeated UP Warriorz by 6 wickets at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow last night. With this loss, UP Warriorz’s chance to qualify for the playoffs has almost finished. Batting first, UP Warriorz made 150 runs for 9 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Georgia Voll contributed the highest 55 runs. For Mumbai, Amelia Kerr took a 5 wicket haul. In response to this, Mumbai Indians managed to chase down the score with 9 balls remaining. Opening batter Hayley Matthews played a fabulous innings of 68 runs in just 46 balls. Matthews was also adjudged Player of the Match.
