In women’s cricket, India defeated New Zealand by 59 runs in the first One-Day International of a three-match series at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad this evening. Chasing a target of 228 runs to win, New Zealand was all out for 168 in 40.4 overs. For India, Radha Yadav took three wickets, while Saima Thakor claimed two. Earlier, opting to bat, India was all out for 227 runs in 44.3 overs. Batter Tejal Hasabnis was the highest scorer with 42 runs, followed by Deepti Sharma’s useful contribution of 41.
