In Jammu and Kashmir, the women voters outnumbered men in phase III of assembly elections on the 1st of this month. Akashvani correspondent reports that according to the revised data released by the Election Commission of India, out of a total of nearly 64 per cent voting recorded during the third phase, more than 70 per cent of women voters cast their ballots, while the percentage of male voters was over 69 per cent.
In this phase, the highest voter turnout was recorded in the Marh (SC) assembly segment of Jammu district with 81.47 per cent voter turnout, followed by the Chhamb assembly segment with 80.34 per cent. Out of the 40 assembly constituencies that went for polls on October 1, the lowest turnout was recorded in the Sopore assembly constituency at 45.32 per cent.
