The Women and Child Ministry has decided to provide medical, and infrastructural support to minor victims of rape who have been abandoned by the family due to forced pregnancy.
The decision is aimed to provide integrated support and assistance to girl child victims under one roof.
According to the Ministry, the support will be available at childcare institutions up to the age of 18 and extended support till the age of 23 in aftercare facilities.
The Ministry has leveraged the administrative structure of Mission Vatsalya in collaboration with State government and childcare institutions to actualise support for minor victims on the ground. The Government has accelerated access to justice for minor victims by establishing 415 Posco fast-track courts in the country.
