The body of a woman was found in the Barak River in the Cachar district of Assam today. According to police report in Imphal, the body is suspected to be one of the six persons abducted by Kuki militants on Monday. Earlier three bodies of hostages were recovered on Friday from Borobekra Sub Division in Jiribam which sparked widespread protest in all valley districts of Manipur.
Meanwhile, in an order issued this afternoon, the State Home Department has suspended internet and data services in Jiribam and Pherzawl districts for two days to curb rumours and anti-national and anti-social activities in social media. Internet and data service has already been suspended in seven districts including five valley districts for two days from yesterday.
