The Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of West Bengal yesterday held a press conference after the first phase of the Lok Sabha election. CEO Ariz Aftab said that Luv Sarkar under Rajpur Police Station and another person, Ananta Barman, at Lal Bahadur Sastri School, were injured in two separate incidents in Coochbehar. Both of the injured are undergoing treatment at a local hospital.
The CEO also informed that a total of 12 arrests have been made, of which 10 are preventive and two are specific. He said that complaints received by the Election Commission, including the c-Vigil app, have been addressed. He added that the commission received 296 complaints from Coochbehar, 162 complaints from Alipurduars, and 125 from Jalpaiguri yesterday.
