In West Bengal, a by-election will be held on Wednesday for six assembly constituencies, Sitai, Madarihat, Naihati, Haroa, Medinipur, and Taldangra. The Election Commission is taking comprehensive measures to ensure a free and fair election across these constituencies. A total of 108 companies of central forces will be deployed, along with adequate numbers of state police and Quick Response Teams to maintain law and order.

Candidates from various political parties are actively campaigning, trying to garner support from the electorate. Over 15 lakh voters are likely to participate in the voting process, and all polling booths will be webcast throughout the voting period to ensure transparency and security.
