Junior doctors are on a ‘cease work’ protest at the College of Medicine and Sagore Dutta Medical College and Hospital in North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal. Some doctors and nurses had been beaten and threatened on Friday by the relatives of a patient. Later four relatives of the patient had been arrested.
The junior doctors have given an ultimatum to the state government that if the government do not take visible corrective actions for the security and safety of the doctors then their protest will go on and the junior doctors of West Bengal will go on strike again if the government does not take concrete steps by 5 pm today.
West Bengal Junior Doctors’ Front has supported the strike of the doctors. Meanwhile, police personnel have been posted at the emergency department of the Sagore Dutta Medical College and Hospital.
