We’re using full power of IT to make passport services smoother, faster: Mos Kirti Vardhan Singh

In Andhra Pradesh, a new Regional Passport Office was inaugurated today in Vijayawada by the Union Minister of State for External Affairs and Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Kirti Vardhan Singh. This new facility is expected to significantly reduce the processing time for passport applications, ensuring faster and more efficient service delivery.

 

In a significant step to ease the passport services for the residents of Andhra Pradesh, a new Regional Passport Office was inaugurated today in Vijayawada. Union Minister of State for External Affairs, Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Kirti Vardhan Singh, who inaugurated the office, highlighted the government’s dedication to bringing passport services closer to the people, ensuring efficiency and accessibility. Speaking on this occasion, the Union Minister said, “Along with the passport offices, we are also introducing the new electronic passport, the PSP 2 version where there is chip embedded in the passport document and just make the whole process much smoother and faster and we are using the full power of information technology today.”

 

The newly launched office will cater to the needs of 15 districts of the Central, Southern and Rayalaseema regions of Andhra Pradesh and is expected to process about 3 lakhs passport applications per year.
