The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast light to moderate rainfall, accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and squally winds, at most places over the Western Himalayan region and adjoining plains of northwest India until tomorrow.

Isolated heavy rainfall is likely over Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad and Himachal Pradesh today, with moderate rainfall activity expected tomorrow. Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh are also expected to witness similar weather conditions.

The IMD has also forecast scattered to fairly widespread light rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds over Northeast and East India during the next four days. Heat wave to severe heat wave conditions are expected to continue over Rajasthan today but are likely to abate from April 20.

The weather agency has indicated that Central Maharashtra and Marathwada will face hot and humid weather, while isolated areas in Uttar Pradesh and West Rajasthan may experience dust storms.
