The West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE) has moved a review petition in the Supreme Court on its verdict of invalidating the 25,752 appointments in schools in the state. The Supreme Court cancelled the West Bengal School Service Commission 2016 panel in the teaching and non-teaching appointments. The board said in the petition that the whole education system was being affected after the teachers lost their jobs.
On the other hand, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee held a conference at the Netaji Indoor Stadium in Kolkata to address the situation. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is conducting an investigation into the recruitment scam.
The state government has not terminated the jobs of the candidates at present. Our correspondent reported it is expected that this issue will be raised in the state cabinet meeting tomorrow, which will be chaired by Mamata Banerjee.
