Water level of Ganga river rises in Varanasi

The water level of the Ganga river is rising in Varanasi. The administration has completely banned boat operations in the river till further orders. The flood situation is, however, improving steadily in other parts of the state.
 
Quoting Central Water Commission, our Correspondent reports, the water level of Ganga in Varanasi was 65.29 meters, which is just 6 meters away from the danger mark. The danger level in Varanasi is 71.262 meters and the warning level is 70.262 metres. NDRF and PAC and Jal Police personnel are continuously alerting the people.
 
In Gautam Budh Nagar district, 200 people have been shifted to safer places in five villages. In Meerut, 20 villages of Tehsil Mawana are affected.
 
The water level of Hindon river is decreasing in Ghaziabad and Gautam Budh Nagar. In Ghaziabad, three villages of Tehsil Sadar are affected.
