As part of the WAVES (World Audio Visual and Entertainment Summit), WAM! – the Anime and Manga Contest – was held in Mumbai today, where amateurs and professionals alike participated, bringing iconic characters to life. Organised at Whistling Woods International, the event also saw enthusiastic participation in cosplay, webtoon, and voice acting competitions. Winners from all categories were felicitated by the jury and dignitaries present on the occasion, including the President of the Media & Entertainment Association of India, Sushil Kumar Bhasin.
The first World Audio Visual & Entertainment Summit (WAVES) will be hosted by the Government of India in Mumbai, Maharashtra, from 1st to 4th May 2025. As part of this initiative, the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, in collaboration with the Media & Entertainment Association of India (MEAI), is organising WAM! – the WAVES Anime & Manga Contest – under the “Create in India” challenge. Previous editions of WAM! were successfully conducted in Guwahati, Kolkata, Bhubaneswar, Varanasi, and Delhi.
