Vice President Jagdeep Dhankar today stressed the importance of the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) highlighting that it is one of the Directive Principles of State Policy. Addressing the fourth batch participants of the Rajya Sabha Internship Programme (Phase-I)  in New Delhi, Mr Dhankar urged citizens to use natural resources wisely. He said that equitable consumption of natural resources is important and people should use resources optimally as per their needs.

Mr Dhankar also emphasized that the country will blossom, take great strides, and register exponential progress if citizens are committed to Fundamental Duties. He underlined the importance of individual responsibility in shaping the nation’s future. Referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ initiative, Mr Dhankhar urged citizens to plant and nurture trees in the name of their mothers as a way to combat climate change. He stated that this is not symbolic, it’s a crucial step towards saving our planet.

He further pointed out that social media has become unmanageable, highlighting that the number of people spreading negativity is less, but their traction is high and such things spread like fire.
