All nine BJP and its allies candidates win Maharashtra Legislative Council Elections held for 11 seats

All the nine candidates of Mahayuti won in the election for 11 seats of Maharashtra Legislative council biennial elections held on Friday (12th July 2024). While, 2 out of 3 candidates of Mahavikas Aghadi won the polls.
 
12 candidates were in the fray for 11 Legislative Council seats. All 274 MLAs of Vidhan Sabha casted their votes today.

 

From BJP,  Pankaja Munde, Parinay Phuke, Sadabhau Khot, Yogesh Tilekar and Amit Gorkhe won the polls.  Rajesh Vitekar and Shivajirao Garje of Ajit Pawar’s NCP and Shivsena’s former MPs Kripal Tumane and Bhavna Gawli won the polls.

 

Pradnya Satav from Congress and Shiv Sena Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray Party’s candidate Milind Narvekar won the election. While, Jayant Patil of Peasant and Workers Party who was contesting the with the support of NCP Sharadchandra Pawar’s party lost in the election.

 

Union Minister and BJP President J P Nadda has congratulated Maharashtra NDA leaders on securing a landslide victory in the state’s MLC election. In a social media post, Mr Nadda expressed confidence that all the winning candidates will contribute significantly to nation-building under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He added that their experience in public service will accelerate efforts towards advancing both state and the nation towards the envisioned Viksit Maharashtra and Viksit Bharat.

 

The alliance, consisting of the BJP, Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde), and NCP (Ajit Pawar) in Maharashtra has won all nine seats it contested.
