Venezuela will go to polls today to elect a new President. The opposition parties have united behind a single candidate, posing a serious challenge to the ruling United Socialist Party of Venezuela. The main rival of current President Nicolas Maduro is former diplomat Edmundo González Urrutia, who represents the opposition. Maduro, who is seeking a third term, closed his poll campaigning on Thursday by addressing his supporters on a huge stage set up on one of the main roads of capital city Caracas.
