Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Dr. L. Murugan has said that Central Government had announced various measures for the development of the fishing Community. In an interaction with the media at Thoothukudi today, he said that the Government had allocated Rs. 17 Crore for installing one lakh GPS equipment for fishing boats in Tamil Nadu. He said that the Government is taking measures to rescue the fishermen from Srilankan prisons.
