Various initiatives taken to ensure free, fair & peaceful elections in Mizoram, says CEC Rajiv Kumar

Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar has said that various initiatives have been taken  to ensure free, fair and peaceful elections in Mizoram. Addressing a Press conference in Aizawl, he further said that the Commission will ensure level playing field for all candidates. The Chief Election Commissioner said that there are more than eight lakh voters in the State of which 4.06 lakh are male voters while 4.32 lakhs  female. He said that the final electoral rolls will be published in October.

Mr. Rajiv Kumar further said that there are more than forty thousand first time voters while there are five thousand and twenty one service voters. The Chief Election Commissioner further said that there are one thousand two hundred and seventy six polling stations in the State. He said that the expenditure limit for candidates in the forthcoming Assembly polls has been raised to twenty eight lakh rupees.
