One lady died while 9 others were injured when two buildings adjacent to the Kashi Vishwanath temple in Varanasi collapsed this morning.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to the commissioner of Varanasi Kaushal Raj Sharma about the incident and asked him to help the affected people. The incident took place in the wee hours when two old buildings collapsed due to heavy rain. Teams of the police, National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), doctors, and a dog squad rushed to the spot soon after receiving information about the incident and all the injured have been admitted to the hospital. Commissioner Varanasi Kaushal Raj Sharma said that owners of the old and depleted houses near Kashi Vishwanath temple have been asked to shift to other locations for the next two or three months for their own safety.
