In Uttarakhand, two Nepali-origin workers lost their lives in a forest fire incident at Syunarakot, Someshwar tehsil of Almora district, while two others sustained injuries in the blaze.
The injured are being treated at Sushila Tiwari Hospital in Haldwani.
Reports indicate that Nepalese workers were extracting highly inflammable resin (Leesa) when they were engulfed by flames.
Meanwhile, the forest department is actively working to extinguish ongoing fire incidents in the state’s forests.
Authorities have identified 52 individuals responsible for igniting fires in the forests, so far.
