Uttarakhand Pilgrims Rescued by Helicopter; CM Pushkar Singh Dhami Inspects Disaster-Affected Areas

In Uttarakhand, 425 pilgrims stranded on the Kedarnath Dham Yatra route have been brought to a safe place by helicopter from Lyncholi and Bhimbali in Rudraprayag district so far. About one thousand four hundred pilgrims have reached Sonprayag on foot from various places with the help of rescue teams.

Earlier today, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inspected the disaster-affected area in Tehri district. He said that the government will provide all possible assistance to the affected people. After this, the Chief Minister conducted an aerial inspection of the areas affected by heavy rains in Kedarghati in Rudraprayag district. He also directed to speed up the work of repairing damaged roads and footpaths.

It may be recalled that after heavy rains in various parts of the state yesterday, water logging occurred at many places, and due to landslides, many roads were blocked for traffic. Efforts are being made to open all the roads.

Meanwhile, the Met Department has issued an orange alert for very heavy rain at some places in Uttarkashi district tomorrow. Light to moderate rain and heavy rain at isolated places are also expected in other parts of the state.
