In Uttarakhand, voting is underway in 100 municipal bodies across the state today. Polling began at 8 am and will continue until 5 pm. These elections will decide representatives for Municipal Corporations, Municipal Councils, and Nagar Panchayats. A total of 5,405 candidates are contesting statewide, including 72 candidates vying for the post of Mayor in 11 municipal corporations. More than 30 lakh voters will exercise their votes and decide the fate of candidates.

To ensure peaceful and fair elections, stringent security arrangements have been put in place. Special attention is being given to sensitive and highly sensitive polling stations, with adequate deployment of security personnel at every booth to prevent any untoward incidents.

The state administration is working diligently to facilitate smooth voting for the public.
