In Uttarakhand, Bharatiya Janata Party’s national president JP Nadda rallied support for BJP candidate Mala Rajyalakshmi Shah from the Tehri parliamentary constituency in Mussoorie, on Monday.
Addressing the enthusiastic crowd, Nadda praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s decade-long transformational leadership and said it has redefined Indian politics.
Mr Nadda highlighted the impact of PM Modi’s initiatives, citing the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana, which provides free ration to 80 crore citizens, and the eradication of open defecation through nationwide toilet construction efforts.
He emphasized the connectivity brought by the Pradhan Mantri Gramin Sadak Yojana, which has linked over three lakh villages with paved roads and the provision of tap water to every household.
Additionally, Nadda commended the government’s implementation of annual health insurance worth Rs 5 lakh for 40% of the nation’s population.
In Tehri, Congress’s Jot Singh Gunsola faces off against BJP’s Mala Rajyalakshmi Shah. Tehri will go to polls on 19th April.
As the electoral heat rises in Uttarakhand, prominent contenders from both the Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) are vying for parliamentary seats across the state.
In the Garhwal parliamentary constituency, Congress’s Ganesh Godiyal and BJP’s Anil Baluni are engaged in a fierce contest. The electoral battleground extends to Haridwar, where Congress’s Virendra Singh Rawat competes against BJP’s Trivendra Singh Rawat. In Nainital-Udham Singh Nagar, Congress’s Prakash Joshi squares off against BJP’s Ajay Bhatt.
