In Uttar Pradesh, polling completed peacefully on the nine assembly seats, whereby elections were held today. Barring some sporadic incidents, there is no news of any untoward incident from any assembly seat. More than 49% polling was recorded on all nine assembly seats.
Five police personnel were suspended by administration after directions of the Election Commission. They allegedly were not following the commission’s guidelines. In the meerapur assembly seat of Muzaffarnagar district, there was an incident of stone pelting, which was controlled by the administration very soon. Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav accused the BJP and administration of stopping people from using their franchise, while the BJP accused the Samajwadi Party of bogus voting.
