Uttar Pradesh Gears Up for Second Phase Polls; Campaigning Intensifies

Political parties came out with all guns blazing on the penultimate day of the poll campaign for the second phase of elections in Uttar Pradesh. Top leaders of BJP, BSP and Samajwadi Party campaigned for their party candidates in the western part of the state where 8 Lok Sabha seats will go for poll on the 26th of this month.

Senior BJP leader Rajnath Singh today campaigned for party candidate Mahesh Sharma in Gautam Budh Nagar district. Addressing a large gathering, he said that Noida which was earlier infamous as the corruption centre of Uttar Pradesh has now become the business centre of the state. Now UP is known for its law and order, development, investment and good governance.

Samajwadi Party Chief Akhilesh Yadav held a rally in Aligarh district for the SP-Congress Alliance candidates Bijendra Singh from Aligarh and Jasveer Balmiki from Hathras. He appealed to the public to vote against the people who spread hatred.

Senior BJP leader and Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath held a road show for Party candidate and famous actor Arun Govil in Meerut. He addressed rallies in Amroha and Baghpat districts of Western Uttar Pradesh earlier in the day.

Bahujan Samaj Party Supremo Mayawati also addressed a rally in Meerut district in support of party candidate Devvrat Tyagi. Playing the political plank of a separate state, Mayawati said that if the party comes to power then West UP will be a separate state and will try to bring a branch of High Court in Meerut.
