US stocks gained more than one per cent yesterday as investors looked for bargains after the previous week’s sell-off, awaiting for inflation reports and the Federal Reserve’s policy decision.

The S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite increased nearly one and half per cent and Dow Jones Industrial Average advanced more than one per cent.
