US stocks closed higher yesterday, led by a surge in mega cap and growth stocks bolstering benchmarks in a truncated Christmas eve session. The Nasdaq Composite jumped over 1.3 percent, S&P 500 climbed 1.1 percent and the Dow Jones Industrial Average gained over 0.9 percent.
Meanwhile, the markets in the US shut at 1:00 p.m. Eastern time yesterday and remained closed for Christmas today.
