US stocks ended with modest gains yesterday with the S&P 500 and Dow Jones Industrial Average touching new closing highs supported by comments from Fed policymakers and steady business activity data. 

S&P 500 gained 0.2 percent and Nasdaq Composite as well as Dow Jones Industrial Average were marginally up 0.1 percent.
