US stocks closed lower yesterday, amid profit booking and limited triggers during a holiday-shortened week. The Nasdaq Composite shed over 1.1 percent, S&P 500 dropped over one percent and the Dow Jones Industrial Average lost almost one percent. The US markets will remain close tomorrow for New Year Day. The next scheduled market closure will occur on January 20, 2025, in observance of the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday.
