US: Remains of all 10 victims of small plane crash in Bering Sea recovered

In the United States, remains of all the 10 victims of a small plane crash in the Bering Sea have been recovered. The Nome Volunteer Fire Department confirmed this in a social media post yesterday. The Bering Air single-engine turboprop plane was en route from Unalakleet to Nome when it disappeared last Thursday. After an extensive search, the wreckage was found the next day, with all nine passengers and the pilot confirmed dead.

The crash stands as one of the deadliest aviation accidents in Alaska in the past 25 years. The tragedy marked the third significant U.S. aviation accident within eight days. On January 29, a commercial jetliner collided with an Army helicopter near the nation’s capital, claiming 67 lives. Just days later, on January 31, a medical transportation plane crashed in Philadelphia, killing six people on board and one person on the ground.
