US President Donald Trump has postponed 25 per cent tariffs on many imports from Mexico and some imports from Canada for a month. Trump said he is putting on hold sweeping tariffs that he recently imposed on Mexican imports until April 2nd, after a conversation with his Mexican counterpart, Claudia Sheinbaum. He cited their positive relationship as the reason behind his move. US President said that, for now, fresh tariffs will not apply to trade that comes under the North American trade partnership between the United States, Mexico, and Canada. Sheinbaum hailed Trump’s decision after a phone call between the two leaders. Trump has insisted that the tariffs could be resolved by fixing the trade deficit.
