US President Donald Trump has imposed tariffs on imports from Mexico, Canada, and China. President Trump signed three executive orders last night, issuing tariffs on the US’ top three trading partners. One executive order places 25% tariffs on goods from Mexico, while another installs 25% tariffs on goods from Canada and a 10% tariffs on Canadian energy sources. A third executive order levies an additional 10% tariffs on imports from China. In a social media post, the US President said that he is taking action in an effort to address the illegal flow of drugs and immigrants across the United States’ northern and southern borders. Earlier on Friday, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said that the US will be leveling tariffs on Mexico, Canada and China for allowing the distribution of the illegal fentanyl into the US which has killed tens of millions of Americans.
