President Zelenskyy  reaches UK for European Defence Summit after fiery exchange with President Trump

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has reached the UK to attend a European defence summit after he meets with President Donald Trump. Zelensky had abruptly departed the White House without signing a crucial minerals agreement with the US after he got into a verbal spat in the Oval Office last night.

The fiery exchange began with President Trump telling reporters that President Zelensky harbours a kind of hatred for Russia’s President Vladimir Putin, making it tough for him to get a deal. In response, Zelensky told President Trump that there should be no compromise with Putin in negotiating a resolution to the war.

However, the Ukrainian President said it is very important that Ukraine is heard and that no one forgets about it. Separately, in a series of posts on X, he also said he was very grateful to the United States for all the support it has so far provided to Ukraine.

Meanwhile, Russia said  that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky was obsessed with continuing the war in Ukraine and that his visit to the US had been a complete failure. Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova also said its goals in Ukraine remained unchanged.

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer , Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and other leaders will hold talks with the Ukrainian President at European Defence Summit.
