US Open Tennis: Defending Champion Carlos Alcaraz of Spain to face Italy’s Matteo Arnaldi in pre-quarterfinal of Men's Singles

In US Open Tennis, defending champion Carlos Alcaraz of Spain will face Italy’s Matteo Arnaldi in the pre-quarterfinal of Men's Singles in New York tonight. In the other Round of 16 matches of Men's Singles, eighth seed Andrey Rublev of Russia will meet Jack Draper of United Kingdom. Third seed Daniil Medvedev will lock horns with Australian 13th seed Alex de Minaur for a place in the quarterfinal later tonight. Italian sixth seed Jannik Sinner will be up against German 12th seed Alexander Zverev tomorrow morning.
 
Earlier, second seed Novak Djokovic set up a quarterfinal clash with American ninth seed Taylor Fritz while 10th seed Frances Tiafoe will meet Ben Shelton in an all-American clash of the last eight.
 
In Women's Singles, third seed Jessica Pegula is playing against 17th seed Madison Keys in another all-Ameican showdown for a place in the quarterfinal. Ninth seed Markéta Vondroušová of the Czech Republic is taking on Peyton Stearns of the United States. Fifth seed Ons Jabeur of Tunisia will take on Chinese 23rd seed Qinwen Zheng.  Belarusian Second seed Aryna Sabalenka will take on Russian 13th seed Daria Kasatkina in the Round of 16 tomorrow morning.
 
Earlier, sixth seed Coco Gauff of the US set up a clash with Jeļena Ostapenko of Latvia for a place in the semi-finals. 10th seed Karolína Muchová of Czech Republic will play against 30th seed Sorana Cîrstea of Romania in the quarterfinal.
 
In Men's Doubles, India's Rohan Bopanna and his Australian partner Matthew Ebden defeated the British pair of Julian Cash and Henry Patten 6-4, 6-7, 7-6 in the Round of 16 yesterday.
