U.S. indices registered an upward trajectory yesterday, driven by a strong session in European markets and anticipation of earnings report from key US retailers.

Major US markets were trading with gains. The Nasdaq Composite surged 1.39 per cent, the S&P 500 advanced 0.97 per cent and the Dow Jones Industrial Average added 0.58 per cent.
