In the United States, Coast Guard said that the cargo ship that lost power and crashed into Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore, underwent routine engine maintenance in port beforehand. The investigators have recovered data recorder of the ship manned by a 22-member Indian crew. One of the 22 Indian crew members received minor injuries and was treated and discharged from the hospital, Synergy Marine Group, the owners of the vessel said in a statement.
 
Divers also recovered the bodies of two of six workers who plunged into the water when the bridge collapsed. The others were presumed dead, and officials said search efforts had been exhausted. Col. Roland L. Butler Jr. superintendent of Maryland State Police said that the bodies of the two men were located inside a red pickup. He identified the men as Alejandro Hernandez Fuentes, who was from Mexico and living in Baltimore, and Dorlian Ronial Castillo Cabrera, who was from Guatemala and living in Dundalk, Maryland. The victims, who were part of a construction crew fixing potholes on the bridge, were from Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador.
