The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission has said that the sanctity of the examinations and the convenience of the candidates are its priority and the exams in state are being conducted as per the guidelines of the Supreme Court.
Scores of UPPSC aspirants staged a protest outside the headquarters of the commission in Prayagraj yesterday against the decision to conduct the Review Officer and Assistant Review Officer (RO-ARO) examination and the Provincial Civil Service (PCS) preliminary examination on different dates and in multiple shifts.
Regarding this commission has said that where there are more than 5 lakh candidates, the system of conducting the examination in more than one shift has been implemented. Accordingly, it has been decided to conduct PCS (Preliminary) Examination and RO/ARO (Preliminary) Examination 2023 in two and three phases respectively. It said that for the purpose of protecting the integrity of the Commission’s examinations and the future of the students, the examinations are being conducted only at those centers where there are no irregularities of any kind.
Over 10 lakh people had applied for the RO/ARO (preliminary) examination held in February 2024, but it was cancelled by the state government following a paper leak.
