In Uttar Pradesh, the auspicious festival of Rakshabandhan or Rakhi showcasing unbreakable and special bond between siblings is being celebrated across the state.
Akashvani correspondent report: Heavy rush was seen at the prisons in all districts where sisters gathered to tie the Rakhi on the hands of their brothers. Free travel facilities are available to all mothers, sisters, and daughters in the state's government buses today also. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has already bestowed a significant gift upon the daughters of the state yesterday by announcing an increase of Rs 10000 in the amount of the Mukhyamantri Kanya Sumangla Yojana from 2024-25. Sisters from different education and social institutions tied Rakhi on the hands of jawans and police personals. In Azamgarh district, girls from minority community prepared Rakhi which is 131 feets long and have names and photos of all the Martyrs of pulwama attack on it. They gave the Rakhi to the DM of district as a tribute to the Martyrs. Girls of samved gurukulam of Mathura Rakhi on the hands of information and broadcasting minister Anurag Singh Thakur yesterday.
