Several programs are being organised in Uttar Pradesh on this occasion of World Tourism Day. Talking to Akashvani News, Principal Secretary of Tourism Mukesh Meshram said that government is trying to promote various sectors of tourism including agri and rural tourism in state.

In 2022, the total tourist footfall recorded by UP was 31.86 crore. Compared to this, almost an equal number of tourists have visited the state in the first six months of 2024. Over 11 crore pilgrims and tourists visited Ayodhya in the first half of 2024. Ayodhya’s visitors accounted for roughly one-third of the total 33 crore tourists who travelled to different destinations across Uttar Pradesh during the same period.
