The Uttar Pradesh government appealed to the people of the state not to pay heed to fake news related to the counting of votes and assured that the counting will be conducted in a transparent manner with full security arrangements. DGP Prashant Kumar and Additional Chief Secretary Home Deepak Kumar addressed a press conference today in Lucknow. The DGP said that the police have proper information about those elements who are spreading fake news regarding the counting and calling people to gather at counting centers in large numbers. He said that stern action will be taken against them. Mr. Kumar said that the police are keeping an eye on such elements and no one will be allowed to disturb law and order. Mr. Kumar informed that 145 companies of CAPF and 102 companies of PAC have been deployed to smoothly conduct the counting procedure and for security purposes. He said that Quick Response Teams have also been deployed at sensitive places.
