The by-election for the Milkipur assembly seat in Ayodhya was completed. A 65.25 percent voter turnout was recorded till 5 pm. In this by-election, 10 candidates, including BJP’s Chandrabhanu Paswan, SP’s Ajit Prasad, and Azad Samaj Party’s Santosh Kumar, are in the fray. Tight security arrangements were made to conduct the by-election in a free, fair, and peaceful manner. Webcasting of 210 polling stations and videography of 25 polling stations were done. At the same time, micro observers were appointed at 71 polling stations. The Milkipur assembly seat was vacated by SP leader Awadhesh Prasad following his victory in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections from Faizabad.
