Union Minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lalan Singh today hailed the decision to roll out Unified Pension Scheme (UPS) for Central government employees. Talking to media in Patna, Mr. Singh said the Centre has decided to raise the Central government contribution for employees from 14 percent to 18.5 percent and state government should also implement it as a model.

Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi said, it is a historic step taken by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Mr. Manjhi said if the Centre’s model of UPS is implemented in states, then 90 lakh employees will benefit from it.
