Union Minister Pralhad Joshi today criticized Congress for nominating a candidate for the Lok Sabha Speaker post. Speaking to the media outside Parliament, he said the government was ready to discuss the Deputy Speaker post but imposing preconditions is not acceptable.

Another Union Minister, Rajiv Ranjan alias Lallan Singh, accused the opposition of trying to play pressure politics over the Lok Sabha Speaker post.

Meanwhile, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge stated that there has been no discussion between the government and the opposition regarding the Speaker post. He mentioned that the election is going to happen, which is why they have filed a nomination.

Another Congress leader, Gaurav Gogoi, remarked that the ruling party needs to change its attitude, emphasizing that the Parliament before 2024 and after 2024 is completely different.
